Memorial Hospital Hit by Ransomware Attack

Memorial Hospital and Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia, experienced a ransomware attack on November 2, 2024, disrupting access to its IT systems, including electronic medical records and email. The hospital promptly alerted patients via Facebook on November 3, 2024, emphasizing that patient care continued but wait times might be longer due to manual record-keeping.

The attack was detected through antivirus alerts, prompting an internal investigation. By January 31, 2025, it was confirmed that names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, health insurance details, medical histories, and treatment information had been compromised.
